Good morning my friends, β I was watching this Science of Self-Care video this morning (amazing YouTube channel, you should definitely subscribe), and she introduced this idea of visualizing yourself loving your work as a self-care habit. I feel like I've been caught up a bit in the stress and overwhelm of day-to-day work lately, so this idea pinged me instantly. I have my dream job, my dream business, my dream life. But sometimes it's easy to get lost in the sauce of deadlines and demands on my time and energy. But what if it didn't have to feel stressful? What if it felt good? What if it was just a matter of practicing that feeling regularly? Like building a muscle. πͺ This is something that doesn't have to take much time either. It can be a few minutes in the morning or evening, imagining yourself working with a smile the next day. If there's a particular task you're dreading this week, can you visualize yourself doing that task in a scenario that would actually feel pleasant? Can you put yourself in a headspace where work can actually be fun? Even the stuff you don't really like doing? We all have that stuff, even when you become a freelancer. But you can always choose to approach it differently. So my question to you this week, Reader, is: What would it look like if it were fun? That thing you're dreading doing this week, the stressful thing, the boring thing, whatever it is -- visualize it as though you were having fun doing it.
