Hey there Reader, I just got back from a quick trip to Miami Beach last week, which was for the most part, a lovely escape from winter here in the Midwest. 🏖️ It wasn't a trip without issues though. I got pretty sick the last couple days of the trip. It was not fun, and I was completely alone. 😶 I'm still figuring out what it was, but some kind of virus most likely. But it hit me so hard and so suddenly, that I spiralled out for a bit trying to figure out what was going on. Mold exposure? Food poisoning? A nasty bug? I reached out for help in figuring out the situation, but ultimately, it was down to me. Finally, I determined it wasn't my environment, so that was a relief. Then I just had to rest as much as possible and hope I could rally for the last few days of my trip and the flight home. And -- albeit with intermittent fatigue and nausea -- I did. Not my ideal vacation scenario, but I figured it out. Reflecting on the experience now that I'm back home, I keep coming back to one of the most valuable lessons I learned early on in freelancing: Always be course correcting. Obstacles will come your way, whether it's in your business, your health, or anywhere in between. The best you can do is keep as level a head as you can, evaluate the situation calmly, and... try something. You get off track, you course correct, you get back on track. 🚗 And we're course correcting all the time. You might even say we're correcting more often than we're actually on track. But that's the game. Life is always going to throw roadblocks your way. The best skill you can develop is learning how to navigate around them when they come up. If you wanna see what I got up to on the rest of the trip when I wasn't sick, you can check out my travel vlog here. My goal was to show a relaxing, peaceful few days in Miami Beach in February, before the craziness of spring break and summer arrives. I think February is the perfect time to visit! 🩵 Dreaming of sun, sand, and blue-green waves 🏖️, Amanda P.S. I also hit 6k subscribers while I was on this trip! I'm truly amazed at how my little channel is growing day by day. In case you haven't subscribed yet, you can do that here. 😇
