Leaning into a season of rest 🧑

It's the first fake spring, Reader! 🌸

This is what I call the first spike in higher temperatures up here in the north at the tail end of winter -- quickly followed by a drop back into the 40s and 30s. But for today, it's going to be 64 degrees, my windows are open, and I'm grateful. ☺️ Take the wins where you can find them.

But I am not dropping into your inbox this fine Monday morning simply to discuss the dubious Wisconsin weather. Today I want to share more of a personal phase I've been going through and see if you resonate with it too.

I've been feeling, probably since mid-late February, that I am in a slow season. A season of rest and recovery. In business, in my mental and physical health, even in my social life.

And a part of me says, well duh, it's winter. Everybody slows down a little bit in winter. But it feels deeper and heavier than that.

My body, mind, and soul has been craving rest. To let go of all the things I "should" be doing rightthisminute, as my ego/anxiety brain is always telling me, and just... chill. Meditate. Practice EFT. Sauna. Take a nap. Make good food. Go outside, when it's not gross. Stay inside and get cozy on my couch, when it is gross. πŸ›‹οΈ 🍡

Let go of making loads of content, marketing my business, making a ton of new connections. Checking every single thing off the to do list. Most things can wait.

Exercise has become sporadic at best during this time, and even that's just fine for a season. I know I'll ramp up again soon, especially as the weather gets warmer.

As someone who is notoriously type A, has five projects going at any given moment, and is always thinking about what's next, this has been somewhat challenging for me. I like to feel like I'm making progress in my life. It's much harder to let go and relax and trust that it's all working out just fine.

On the other hand, it's also been a relief. To know, on a deep spiritual level, that this is necessary right now. Another season of growth will come on the other side of it. (And honestly, with two lunar eclipses coming in hot this month, that growth season is probably coming sooner rather than later. πŸ‘€)

So what does this mean for you? I guess my point is, if you feel like you've been struggling to make forward progress in certain areas of your life, maybe you aren't meant to right now. Maybe you're pushing and overthinking and flailing around when you're actually meant to take a step back.

Reflect and see how that feels for you. Did your whole body just go, "yes omg, please and thank you"? Then it's chill time, baby. ✌️

Take a step back, regroup, recover, and know that the time for forward momentum is coming soon. (Perhaps just in time for spring and the astrological new year. Funny how that works out.)

Rest like it's your job. Because it's all part of the process. You got this. πŸ™‚

Snoozin' πŸ₯±,

Amanda

P.S.

As you may have noticed, I've been pretty quiet on YouTube lately as part of this season of rest, but I'll be back before you know it! If you haven't already, you can subscribe here.
