Health First Freelancer

It is simply not happening today đŸĢ

Hey there Reader,

I tried to start writing you an email about healthy habits, getting back on the horse, refocusing on your health after falling off the wagon, etc.

And after about 10 minutes of staring at my screen, I realized that today is not the day for that newsletter.

I've got about 30% in the tank today. Maybe. đŸĒĢ

I didn't get much sleep last night and I'm stressed about moving next weekend. There's a lot to do this week. Quite frankly, I feel like a mess.

My whole body is like, "rest please!" and it feels like I don't have time for that.

But actually, I do. I have a couple of small client projects to turn in today and one meeting (hopefully off-camera, off-mic).

Nowhere urgent to be. Plenty of time to take a nap or two. Time to go outside and get grounded in the green grass.

I'm tired, and my brain isn't fully turned on, but it's all good.

I often think that this is really what it means to be a Health First Freelancer more than anything else. Way more than a certain type of schedule or productivity method. It means having space.

It means adapting your work to the capacity you have that day.

It means resting when you need to rest, and allowing everything else to fit around that.

You naturally let go of the things that don't really matter. Constantly checking email, having the perfect calendar.

Those things don't really matter. And once you slow down and allow your health to be the priority, it's a lot easier to see that.

So my only prompt for you this week is, how can you create a little more space in your day for you? What can you let go of that will lighten the load just a little bit more?

Whatever it is, your well-being is more important.

Wake me up when September ends 😴,

Amanda
