Why did I do this, Reader? โ On Saturday, which was a hot and sunny one here, I decided to lay out on my rooftop and catch some rays. โ๏ธ Somehow every year I manage to convince myself that I can handle way more sun than I actually can, and I got pretty sunburned. ๐ฆ Honestly I feel like such an idiot. Turns out a bad sunburn can even give you systemic side effects like nausea and fatigue. Yep, I got those too. And my gut is a mess. ๐ซฃ Ironically, my skin isn't even peeling, but every body is different. Maybe you can handle 60+ minutes in the sun and be just fine. Apparently, I cannot. Ugh. By writing this email to you and publicly shaming myself, I'm hoping I remember to be more careful going forward. ๐ The point is, I still make mistakes -- with my health and my business -- and all I can do is try to learn from them. To add on to that, very few mistakes have irreversible consequences. Whether it's your business, your health, or something else in your life, most things are fixable. You mess up, you learn, you do better next time. Or, maybe more likely -- you mess up, you learn, you mess up again, you learn, you mess up again, you do better. It's a continuous process. Some might say it's also the human condition. Don't let the fear of doing something "wrong" stop you from trying. Whether that's trying out a new healthy habit, reaching out to a prospective client even if you don't have a ton of experience, or asking for feedback on a project. The worst that can happen probably isn't all that bad. And if it does, you'll learn from it. So, what is something you're afraid to do, but you know you need to do it, even if you make a mistake? Hit reply and let me know. Maybe I can help. โ โ Lobster chic, Amanda โ
